For the past 3 years the Joshua Kivinda Kimilu foundation has made strides in putting the women, youth and wazees together in groups. These groups are useful when disseminating information to any specified group(s) on any matter.
Contraceptives are offered through both our youth centre and our clinic. Regular sexual and reproductive health education is done in the youth centre, and there are information pamphlets and educational resources on SRH available in the youth centre.
Joshua Kivinda Kimilu Foundation has done training with local health facilities to help increase the number of facilities offering youth-friendly services. Additionally, Kenya Relief Aid Access has convened church leaders and teachers’ meetings to sensitize them on SRH information to support youth.
Joshua Kivinda Kimilu Foundation aids in reducing poverty by supporting the creation of sustainable businesses and equipping Kenyans to manage their enterprises. Loans paired with business training and leadership training help dairy farmers, barbers, mechanics, and other small business owners access the capital they need to launch or expand their businesses and grow a sustainable income. Without this income, many business owners would not be able to provide proper nutrition and education for their families.
Recognizing that youth only accounted for 11% of the Micro Enterprise clients, Kenya Relief Aid Access initiated a project explicitly designed to meet youth’s economic needs.
Joshua Kivinda Kimilu Foundation has trained ten youth and given them each a motorbike to start their taxi businesses.
